Hit-and-run driver critically injured bicyclist in Fort Lauderdale, police say

A bicyclist was critically injured early Saturday when a hit-and-run driver struck him in Fort Lauderdale, police said. The driver did not stop to help Ortibez, of Fort Lauderdale, or contact police, and continued traveling west, investigators said. The collision happened at about 1:25 a.m. as the bicyclist and driver headed west. The bicyclist, James Ortibez, was thrown off the bike after he was struck with the car's left front bumper, authorities said.
