Man, 47, struck and killed by freight truck on Sawgrass Expressway
Diego Vanegas Gomez, of Coral Springs, had been in a prior crash along the expressway and had left his vehicle on the grassy shoulder. He inexplicably crossed the highway from the east shoulder to the west and stepped into the path of a freight truck just north of Atlantic Boulevard at about 12:15 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol said.
