U.S. 98 crash claims life of NW Florida man
FHP reports that Aaron Lynn Whitfield, 55, of Port St. Joe, was traveling west on U.S. 98, near Research Road, at 10:50 p.m. Friday when his 2000 Chevrolet Prizm crossed the center line and hit the front left of a 2011 Honda CR-V traveling in the opposite direction.
The crash killed Whitfield. The driver of the Honda, 73-year-old Johnnie Lee Chambers of Apalachicola, is currently in serious condition at Bay Medical in Panama City. His wife, Diane Mary Chambers, also 73, is listed in critical condition at the same hospital.
