According to reports, Mr. Laramore was westbound on SR 20 when the Escape collided with a Dodge Caliber traveling south on CR 275. Officials say the driver of the Dodge failed to obey a stop sign and entered the path of the Escape, with the front of the Dodge striking the Escape on its passenger side. Both vehicle spun out of the travel lanes and struck a fence on the south side of the roadway, coming to rest there. Mr. Laramore and the driver of the Dodge, 25-year-old Wesley Alan McHenry of St. Petersburg, were both taken to Bay Medical Center with critical injuries. FHP reports indicate that charges are pending and that, in McHenry’s case, alcohol was a factor in the crash.
