Teenager Killed in Hit and Run in Chipley
A man is dead after a hit and run in Chipley Thursday night.
According to Chipley Police Department, a teenager was killed by a hit-an-run driver on corner of South Boulevard and Iona Street Thursday night. Thomas Richardson of Wausau and a friend had found the body of a lost dog and were waiting for the police to arrive around 6 p.m. It was at this point that a newer-model dark-colored car drove off the road onto the shoulder and struck Richardson. The teen was transported to Northwest Florida Community Hospital and was later airlifted to Bay Medical Sacred Heart in Panama City, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have found the driver, identified as Matthew Lee Horn, 36, and arrested him.
