Deputy Steve O’Brien approached a car in a nightclub parking lot after spotting a suspected drug deal taking place late Wednesday night. The car sped off, striking O’Brien, who rolled up and off of the vehicle’s hood.

A spokeswoman says deputies pursued the car until it hit a curb and the driver lost control. Deputies tried to block the car, but the driver accelerated and crashed into two patrol cars, injuring two deputies.

Nineteen-year-old Brashawn Boyd of New Albany, Ind., was arrested on charges including aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer.
