Florida Highway Patrol officials said the 55 year old man was with a group of people near the Coconut Grove Motor Inn on Front Beach Road. A manager told them to leave, and one man walked across the road, when a truck hit him.
Pedestrian struck by vehicle on Front Beach Road
A 55-year-old Panama City, who name was not released pending notification of family , was struck by a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Lakeysha Rena Williams of Alpine, Ala., according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The FHP report indicates the man failed to yield to traffic and was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. He was transported to Bay Medical Center in serious condition.
The victim was not in a crosswalk when he was hit and was transported to Bay Medical Center in critical condition. Florida Highway Patrol reports indicate that the pedestrian was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
