Bradenton woman killed in motorcycle crash in Polk

According to a Polk County Sheriff’s Office report Rabren failed to negotiate a curve while traveling on her 1994 Harley Davidson motorcycle. As she attempted to correct she was ejected from the bike and it landed on top of her.

A 52-year-old Bradenton woman died Saturday from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash near Haines City.

Georgene Rabren was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 5:30 p.m. The incident occurred on the southbound ramp of US 27 to US 192 in Polk County.

According to a Polk County Sheriff’s Office report Rabren failed to negotiate a curve while traveling on her 1994 Harley Davidson motorcycle. As she attempted to correct she was ejected from the bike and it landed on top of her.

Rabren was wearing a helmet.

Several motorcyclists who were riding with her stop to render aid and call for assistance. The ramp was closed for approximately three hours for the investigation.

My husband and I knew georgene and just found out about accident this week. She was a friend from our home in bradenton beach. I have been trying to call georgene and was getting worried that her number was no longer service. My husband called Matt and found out about the accident. We are very saddened to hear about your families loss. I will miss seeing my friend very much.

In March 2013, I was riding with a different LAMA group when two riders had accidents. They are fine now. However, I was extremely surprised by what was my perception of indifference by most of the group. While the ambulance transported them to area hospital, the group continued on their ride to the planned destination. I no longer ride with them. We are led to believe that we are a riding family, but I realized the truth.

I was part of the group an were all having a hard time just knowing we all left together and came home with one less. Thank to everyone who tried to help god bless you all .

Georgene was my sister. My mother and georgenes siblings were not even called. My heartbroken mother learned of her death via Facebook. Georgene loved her mom and her siblings............such a cruelty to deny us . I would appreciate someone that was riding with her to please call me. I cannot seem to accept she's gone. 772-342-0057
