A 57-year-old Spring Hill man was killed when his vehicle crashed into the back of a stopped school bus, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Wade Allen Varney, 57, was headed west on State Road 50 at around 5:10 p.m., when he failed to slow down for a school bus that had stopped at a railroad crossing in front of him. He slammed into the rear of the bus, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver, Juan Enrique Rivera, 51, was the only one inside the school bus and was not hurt.
