Two workers suffer traumatic injuries at the FPL Indiantown plant.

Just before 11 a-m Tuesday morning, two workers at the Florida Power and Light plant in Indiantown were injured.

Just before 11 a-m Tuesday morning, two workers at the Florida Power and Light plant in Indiantown were injured.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office says that Michael Counts of Zephyr Hills and Richard Egert of Sarasota were working on a large steel frame known as a "wall section".

The wall section according to Martin County deputies was placed against a permanent steel framing at the power plant.

Investigators say that Egert was behind and underneath the wall section and Counts was on a ladder in front ot the section.

Both men were working on the section with electric grinders and paint.

Deputies say that the wall section collapsed on it's self with the top section collapsing on the bottom section and following over.

Counts according to deputies was struck by the section and knocked off his ladder.

Egert was knocked to the ground.

Both men were wearing hard hats.

Counts, according to deputies, was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center's Trauma unit by ambulance while the Egwas taken to the same facility by Air MediVac.

FPL says that contractor Sterling Boiler was hired to do upgrades to the existing power plant.
