Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man suspected of a hit and run crash outside of Igot's bar in Lake Worth Tuesday.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man suspected of a hit and run crash outside of Igot's bar in Lake Worth Tuesday.

When deputies approached the man and asked him about the crash, he said he, "heard a loud bang but wasn't sure what it was."

According to the sheriff's office, deputies were dispatched to 702 Lake Avenue in reference to a hit and run crash around 1 a.m.

Deputies spotted a vehicle matching the suspect's car speeding away from the location. A witness told deputies that the car crashed into a parked car at 215 Lakeside Drive.

The driver was then seen running through Bryant Park. Deputies located Michael Gerhard Schultz in the park. Investigators say he appeared bloodied and had bruising on his face.

Deputies questioned Schultz about the hit and run crash but Schultz denied involvement. Deputies say they located the keys to the vehicle involved in the hit and run collision in Schultz's pants pocket.

He was arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail. He will be charged with two counts of fleeing the scene of a hit and run crash and two counts of driving on a suspended license.
