Three students on the bus were not hurt seriously. The sheriff said the driver of an out-of-town utility truck was not injured when his vehicle was sideswiped by the bus, a 2022 model that was totaled.

According to GSP, Ciarcia was traveling north on Logtown Road when he traveled into the south lane and hit the utility truck traveling south. The crash report goes on to say, he then lost control of the bus and it left the road and hit several trees.
