One person was killed and another was injured in a crash that happened in Monroe County on Wednesday morning.

One person was killed and another was injured in a crash that happened in Monroe County on Wednesday morning.

The crash happened on Ind. 46, between Old State Road 46 and Kent Road, east of Bloomington, around 7:30 a.m. and involved two vehicles.

It appears one vehicle was heading eastbound and another was heading westbound at the time of the crash. It’s possible a patch of ice played a role in the crash, according to a Lieutenant with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

One person was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition. There was one fatality at the scene.

An accident reconstruction crew with Indiana State Police were at the scene Wednesday morning. The crash is under investigation.
