Fishers police are investigating a Tuesday afternoon motorcycle crash that killed a 47-year-old Lebanon woman.

Fishers police are investigating a Tuesday afternoon motorcycle crash that killed a 47-year-old Lebanon woman.

The motorcyclist, James Moore, 47, Lebanon, told police that he was riding north on Allisonville Road at about 5 p.m. Tuesday when traffic ahead of him abruptly stopped and he lost control of his 2006 Honda motorcycle, according to a Fishers Police Department news release.

Moore’s wife, Lori, was on the motorcycle with him and sustained serious injuries. She later died at IU Health Methodist Hospital, the Police Department said. James Moore suffered minor injuries and was treated at the same hospital.

Police said the Moores, who were thrown from the motorcycle, were not wearing helmets. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The crash closed the intersection of Allisonville Road and Conner Creek Drive for two hours.
