Driver of pickup killed, driver of tractor-trailer airlifted to hospital, after a collision on U.S. 24, near Logansport.

One person was killed and another was airlifted after a crash on U.S. 24 in Cass County Thursday.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department received the report of a crash involving a truck and semi on U.S. 24 at 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Deputies said a truck traveling northbound on U.S. 24 attempted to make a left turn onto County Road 600 East when a semi traveling westbound hit the truck.

The driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger in the truck was airlifted to a Lafayette hospital.

The driver of the semi was taken to Logansport Memorial Hospital. Cass County Sheriff’s deputies said the semi driver was able to answer questions before being transported.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing. Deputies have not released names of those involved at this time.
