Biker killed in Wilson County, Kansas after attempting to miss cat

A motorcycle rider was killed Tuesday night in Wilson County in southeastern Kansas after he crashed his bike while attempting to avoid hitting a cat in the roadway, authorities said. The motorcycle rider locked up his brakes to avoid hitting the cat, laying the bike over on its side. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling west on 1400 Road when a cat entered the roadway. The patrol said the rider was thrown off the motorcycle, coming to rest in the roadway. The crash was reported at 7:52 p.m. about three miles north of Fredonia, just east of the intersection of Jade Road and 1400 Road.
