Christopher York, Anna Speier, seriously injured after their car collides with tractor-trailer on I-75.
Pair survive collision that left truck's trailer on top of car.
Two people were airlifted to UC Medical Center after a frightening accident on Interstate 75 on Monday.
The Boone Co. Sheriff's Office said a truck was northbound in the center lane near Walton just before 7 p.m. when the truck moved into the left lane, forcing a car in that lane into the median wall before ending up under the truck's trailer.
Firefighters put the trailer's wheels on blocks and were able to cut a door off the car to extricate both patients, Christopher York, 33, of Verona, and Anna Speier, 44, of Bromley.
The sheriff's office said York and Speier suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The truck's driver was not hurt.
Traffic was stopped for a couple of hours while crews worked to free the car's occupants.
The collision is being investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit.
