"I was driving down Versailles Road going to Lexington and all of the sudden I saw plumes of smoke coming from the ground,” Fanning told WKYT. "I thought there was a plane wreck until I saw that there was a car involved."
Maddie Jackson, 18, a senior at Woodford County High School, died in a fiery multi-car crash Monday just before 4 p.m. on Versailles Road at Westmoreland Drive. Several people were injured in the collision. The crash caused two out of the three vehicles to catch fire.
