LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center

About 60 percent of the world uses some version of civil law; about 40 percent relies on a form of common law. LSU Law gives its students extensive study in both common and civil law.  All LSU Law graduates receive a Juris Doctor and students may also earn the optional Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law in recognition of extensive, optional coursework in the civil law. LSU Law Center’s curriculum requires six semesters.  An optional summer school is also available. Many students choose to spend summers studying in LSU Law’s program in Lyon, France.
