Bicyclist identified in fatal Md. crash

ASPEN HILL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Officials have released the name of the bicyclist killed in a crash in Montgomery County. Police said he stayed at the crash scene. The crash happened on Viers Mill Road at Turkey Branch Parkway Monday night. Police identified the victim as 19-year-old Frank Lawrence Towers of Rockville. When emergency crews arrived on scene, they found Towers suffering fromserious traumatic injuries.

Montgomery Co. lobbies state to improve deadly Veirs Mill intersection

In December, Frank Towers, 19, was struck and killed by an SUV as he tried to cross the intersection on his bike. Then, another fatal crash occurred this past weekend. A 31-year old bicyclist, Oscar Gutierrez Osorio, died after being struck by a car Sunday.
