Man killed in dump truck accident at SE Minnesota quarry

A 28-year-old Rochester man has died in an accident at a quarry in southeastern Minnesota. The Olmsted County sheriff's office says the man was killed when he was caught between two dump trucks. According to the sheriff's office, the victim apparently was caught between the two trucks as one of them backed up at the private quarry mining and asphalt operation. Rescue workers were called late Thursday morning to the quarry near Stewartville. The Post-Bulletin reports efforts to revive the man failed, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says Warnken. who was working for Rochester Asphalt and Concrete, was having trouble closing the dump truck he was operating. At that point Warnken allegedly asked another dump truck operator, who also works for Rochester Asphalt and Concrete, to “bump” into the back of the truck to try and shut it.
