Saluto was hit and killed by a car near Lydia and 24 Highway around 6 p.m. Sunday. Family said he was on his way home to watch the Royals game. Police said the car was headed eastbound when the driver crossed over into the other lane, hitting a man on a bike, who family identify as Saluto.

As part of a plea agreement, Judge David Byrn sentenced LaSala to 7 years in prison. However, if LaSala doesn't screw up during his first four months behind bars, he'll be released and placed on probation for five years.
