Julius Dixson Gerald IV, 31, killed in motorcycle accident in I-15 in Las Vegas on August 15.

The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the man killed in a crash Friday morning along I-15 as Julius Dixson Gerald IV, 31 of Las Vegas. Gerald was killed while riding his motorcycle early Friday in a chain-reaction crash on I-15 near Sahara Avenue. The crash happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. Nevada Highway Patrol says another motorcyclist was traveling northbound on I-15 and lost control of his bike, hitting Gerald's motorcycle. As a result, Gerald hit a concrete wall, was thrown from his bike and struck by a semi-tractor trailer. Gerald was pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorcyclist left the scene. NHP closed all but one lane of I-15 northbound for several hours. All lanes reopened shortly after 5:30 a.m. The Clark County Coroner's Office will identify the rider once next of kin have been notified.
