Prosecutor: Driver killed in tractor-trailer explosion on Route 3 in Clifton

A truck driver was killed when the vehicle exploded on Route 3 in Clifton Monday morning, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office. The driver was identified as a 55-year-old man from Linden.

All Route 3 lanes reopened after fiery, fatal truck crash

All lanes on Route 3 in Clifton that were closed due to damage from Monday’s fatal tractor-trailer crash have been reopened to traffic by Tuesday morning, a state Department of transportation spokesman said.

Authorities identify driver killed in Route 3 truck crash and explosion in Clifton

Authorities say Luis Santiago, a 55-year-old male from Linden, was killed in the crash. They say the commercial truck traveling on Route 3 East clipped a NJ Transit bus before crashing into a barrier causing the vehicle to catch fire.
