Five people have been transported to the hospital, including one woman who was airlifted due to serious injuries, after a head-on collision on I-40 about 13 miles west of Albuquerque according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

One lane is open on westbound I-40 while the Laguna Police Department investigates the incident that occurred Friday afternoon, according to a BCSO spokesman.
