A 22-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the South Valley this morning.
Kenneth Martinez, a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Aaron Williamson.
The wreck happened just after 7 a.m. The black pickup truck was traveling south on Coors, south of Gun Club, when it left the road and hit power pole, the news release reads.
The driver of the vehicle, whose name hasn’t been released, was transported to University of New Mexico Hospital for her injuries.
Investigators are looking into whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, Williamson said.
Coors was closed while PNM repaired the utility pole.
