Police: 2 killed in northern New Mexico plane crash
New Mexico State Police say the single-engine plane went down Friday afternoon near the Ohkay Owingeh Airport near the city of Española, about 25 miles north of Santa Fe.

Young is believed to have been the pilot and Spickermann the co-pilot.
The Remos GX light sport airplane (tail number N28GX) crashed around 4:30 p.m., Friday in the vicinity of the Ohkay Owingeh Airport near Española.

A closer inspection of the crash also noted nothing out of the ordinary, though investigators also said the engine had “sustained significant thermal damage” during the post impact fire.They also said that nearly all of the flight control tubing that controlled flight were destroyed by the fire and that a rear part of the engine that also may have held some clues was totally destroyed by the fire.
