An 8-year-old boy from Fort Stockton, Texas, was ejected from a vehicle and later pronounced deceased at around 10 a.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 285 near milepost 149, north of Roswell, according to New Mexico State Police.
At around 10 a.m. Sunday north of Roswell, New Mexico, a Ford pickup driver was southbound when he struck an icy spot in the roadway. The pickup crossed the median into oncoming traffic, where it rolled over and ejected an 8-year-old child. The child, Daniel Lopez of Fort Stockton, Texas, died at the scene. Two other pickup occupants were injured.
