Woman killed in crash on 17E

According to state police, McGee was driving west on the eastbound lane of State Route 17. Her gray 2001 Ford Escort collided head-on with a 2010 white pick-up truck driven by Nickolas Little, 34, of Ceres, NY.
Nichols, NY (WBNG Binghamton) New York State Police identify the Tioga County woman who was killed in a head-on crash on State Route 17 East. Shirley McGee, 79, of Candor died in the crash Tuesday afternoon. It happened around 2:40 p.m. by exit 62 in Nichols. According to state police, McGee was driving west on the eastbound lane of State Route 17. Her gray 2001 Ford Escort collided head-on with a 2010 white pick-up truck driven by Nickolas Little, 34, of Ceres, NY. McGee was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tioga County Assistant Coroner. Little and two passengers inside the truck were taken by ambulance to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre for non-life threatening injuries. An autopsy on McGee is scheduled for Wednesday at Lourdes Hospital.Toxicology results are pending, and state police said the investigation continues. The crash caused a lane closure on 17E for several hours. The Tioga Center and Nichols Fire Departments also responded to the crash.
