Fully-loaded whiskey truck rolls over on the I-190

But then they got the word from the driver that he was hauling whiskey – and like a good shot of the stuff, everyone calmed down.

A tanker truck hauling whiskey rolled over at about 11 a.m. Thursday on on I-190 near Porter Road. When the accident was first called in, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies believed that the truck was hauling diesel fuel, and haz-mat teams shut down both northbound and southbound I-190. Thankfully, it turned out to be whiskey, and so far no leaks have been reported. Snow-covered roads were a factor in the wreck. Motorists should expect I-190 southbound between Niagara Falls Boulevard and Packard Road to be restricted to one lane for up to four hours.
