A livery driver died in Brooklyn Friday after he suffered a heart attack behind the wheel and his van rammed into the back of a box truck.
The driver, whose name was not released, was motoring down Foster Ave. near E. 100th St. in Canarsie at 1:40 p.m. when he suffered a “cardiac episode,” a police source said.
The van struck a parked car then reached a high rate of speed and plowed into the back of a box truck, which was double parked on the street, the sources said. The box truck was being used to make deliveries for a bagel wholesaler, and was in the process of being loaded.
Paramedics rushed the driver to Brookdale University Hospital, where he died about an hour later. A second man suffered minor injuries, officials said.
