The 19-year-old driver, Jason Leung, from Middletown, careened the late-model Audi off the highway between Exits 24 and 25 just before 1 a.m. Tuesday. Both he and his passenger, 16-year-old Jennifer Gao of Brooklyn, were pronounced dead on the scene.
Jennifer Gao and Jason Leung were riding together in a car on the Long Island Expressway when their car flew off the road and ran into a tree. The car was believed to be going more than 90 mph at the time of the crash. Both were pronounced dead once authorities arrived. The car was totaled.
