Haverstraw fatal crash: Woman remains hospitalized
Jacob Nadien, 23, of Huntington, Long Island, died at the scene of the 8:50 p.m. Sunday crash along winding, dimly lit Willow Grove Road. Police said they were driving from the Lake Welch area likely to the Palisades Interstate Parkway off Willow Grove Road on the border with Stony Point. The 2007 Ford went out of control and plunged 20 feet down an embankment, police said.

Julia Stanwycks, of Dix Hills, was driving on the windy and dimly lit road, and was admitted to Nyack Hospital in critical condition after the crash. Her current condition is unknown. Police said speed likely was a factor but a final determination will come later.
