One-Car Accident in Red Hook Takes Life of Kingston Woman.
A one-car accident in Red Hook Wednesday night has taken the life of a Kingston woman, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.
Captain John Watterson said the accident took place on Route 9G near Kidd Lane in the Town of Red Hook at approximately 11:15 p.m. The driver and sole occupant, who was identified as Amanda Timbrouck, 30, of Kingston, was pronounced dead at the scene..
Watterson said that the preliminary investigation revealed that Timbrouck was traveling southbound on 9G in a 2000 Toyota Solara when she lost control approximately 1,000 feet north of Kidd Lane. The car then went into a slide, exited the roadway, and struck a tree on the western shoulder.
Watterson said that at this time it appears that unsafe speed was a factor in the crash, however the investigation into the cause continues.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Village of Red Hook Police, and the Tivoli Fire Department.
The investigation is continuing by members of the Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Unit, and more information may be released as it becomes available.
