A 15-year-old Long Island girl was killed and her 13-year-old sister suffered critical injuries after their 19-year-old brother’s car hit another vehicle making a U-turn Monday night, police say. The three siblings were heading west on West Merrick Road near Boden Avenue in Valley Stream in a 2000 Toyota sedan at about 9:30 p.m. when it hit a 2009 Toyota driven by a 31-year-old man, according to the Nassau County Police Department. The 19-year-old’s car barreled into several parking meters and a utility pole after the collision, police say, and the 13-year-old was ejected. The siblings were all taken to the hospital, where the 15-year-old was pronounced dead. Her sister is in critical condition with severe head and body injuries and her brother was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the other car was not hurt. Both cars were impounded for inspections, but police say it does not appear that any crimes were committed in the wreck.
