Michael Bidetti, 40, of West Islip, was trapped in his 2010 white Maserati after he allegedly lost control of the luxury car near Higbie Lane and Kurzon Road, police said. Bidetti's car slammed into into the side of Higbie Bagels about 10:30 p.m, officials said. The bagel shop was destroyed and the crash was so severe that the store next to it, Flavor Crisp Chicken, collapsed too. Islip and Hauppauge fire departments were called on the scene to extract Bidetti from his Maserati and deal with technical issues caused by the crash, according to the Islip Fire Department.
