It appears a driver lost control of a vehicle that ran off Union Road near Shaker Road about 2:45 a.m. Monday, a state patrol dispatcher said.

Four people were in the car. Passenger Eric Ruff, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three others were taken to Atrium Medical Center. There's no word on their conditions.
