Damien Henderson, 16, a student at Amelia High School killed, after the SUV he was riding, driven by Larry Molloy, 41, overturns at high speed on I-275 near Cincinnati.

Police have identified the teenager killed in a crash on Interstate 275 Sunday evening.

Officers said 41-year-old Larry Molloy of Cincinnati was driving 80 mph in a 65 mph zone when his sport utility vehicle hit a wall near Kellogg Avenue and rolled several times.

Damien Henderson, 16, was thrown from the vehicle and later died at Anderson Mercy Hospital, deputies said.

According to the crash report, Henderson was not wearing his seat belt.

“It’s hard period, but especially when it’s a child,” a Cincinnati Police Sgt. said. “The witnesses are very much distraught, anytime you’re involved in something like this. Obviously that’s one of their friends that was involved in this., They know what happened. It's just a bad situation.”

Molloy was not injured in the crash.

Two other teens were in the car, but they were also uninjured. Both were wearing seat belts, troopers said.

“Wear your seat belts, back seat, front seat, anything for that matter,” Carter said. “When you’re in a vehicle anything can happen when it comes down to an automobile crash. When you’re wearing a seat belt at least you give yourself a fighting chance.”

Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. Molloy has a previous OVI conviction in Hamilton County in 2007 and an OVI conviction in Clermont County in 2009.

Counselors were at Amelia High School on Monday to help students and staff in the wake of Henderson's death.

Interstate 275 was closed just after 5 p.m. and reopened just before 11p.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
