The East Cleveland police car was eastbound on Superior Avenue when the pedestrian attempted to cross the street. The car struck the pedestrian, who rolled onto the windshield, the Highway Patrol said.

Christopher Kimble of Cleveland died after an officer struck him with his car as he crossed the street. The officer, whose name has not been released, was placed on paid administrative leave while officials investigate, East Cleveland Police Chief Michael Cardilli said on Monday.
