An Oberlin woman was seriously injured in a two-car crash that happened Friday in Henrietta Township.

Karen Hilty, 47, of Birmingham, was said to have been traveling westbound on Garfield Road in her 2008 Jeep Cherokee when a 2004 Lexus, driven by Sharon Mcsuley, 49, of Oberlin, ran a stop sign and struck Hilty’s vehicle.
The crash happened at 3:13 p.m. at the intersections of Garfield and Gifford roads. The 47-year-old woman suffered incapacitating injuries in the crash and paramedics sent her to Oberlin Mercy Hospital. She was later flown to MetroHealth Medical Center and her condition is not currently known. A 47-year-old Birmingham woman was driving the other vehicle involved in the crash and suffered non-incapacitating injuries. She was not taken to a hospital. The Oberlin woman, who was driving a 2004 Lexus RX330, was heading northbound on Gifford Road when she went through a stop sign. The Lexus struck the side of the Birmingham woman's 2008 Jeep Cherokee, which had been traveling westbound on Garfield Road. The Oberlin woman was not wearing a seatbelt. The crash resulted in her being trapped in her car, and she was extricated by non-mechanical means.
