Troopers are investigating a crash in Perry County that killed a man. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at about 12 a.m. Saturday, 21-year-old Mark E. Metzger, of Junction City Ohio, was driving a 1998 GMC truck southbound on Toll Gate Road, just south of U.S. 22 near Reading Township, when he lost control of his vehicle. Troopers say the truck traveled off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Metzger was partially ejected in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say Metzger was the only occupant of the vehicle and was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. The crash remains under investigation, but according to troopers, alcohol may be a factor.
