A motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital after being involved in a crash in north Columbus Tuesday afternoon.
Columbus medic personnel responded to the scene of the crash in the area of Indianola Avenue and Acton Road just before 1:30 p.m.
A 25-year-old male, later identified as Christopher W. Mitchell was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital, according to medic personnel. He was reportedly unresponsive during transport. He later died at the hospital.
According to police, the crash happened when a car driven by Kenneth True, 65, turned left onto Acton Road from the northbound lane of Indianola Ave. A motorcycle operated by Christopher W. Mitchell II, 26, was traveling southbound on Indianola Ave. at the time. Investigators say that Mitchell lost control of his motorcycle and crashed.
Indianola Avenue is partially restricted at the scene of the crash.
