John W. Poling Jr. seriously injured when his car leaves roadway and crashes into ditch on S.R. 664.

A Logan man was injured Thursday afternoon after crashing his vehicle along state Route 664.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday.

Troopers said that John W. Poling Jr., 47, of Logan, was driving north on S.R. 664 when he went off the roadway, struck an embankment, a road sign, before coming to rest in a ditch.

Poling was taken to Hocking Valley Community Hospital with incapacitating injuries. He was later transferred to Grant Medical Center.
