1 Killed In Perry County Single-Vehicle Crash.

The Lancaster post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Tunnel Hill Road in Perry County Tuesday evening.

Troopers responded to Tunnel Hill Road, just east of Melon Hill Road, at about 8:56 a.m.

According to the report, Charles L. Mauller, 33, of Crooksville, was traveling eastbound on Tunnel Hill Road in a 1991 Ford Ranger truck when he lost control of the vehicle.

The truck traveled off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail and a culvert, before overturning.

The passenger in the truck, 77-year-old Raymond N. Mauller Sr., of Dresden, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Perry County Coroner’s Office.

Raymond was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to troopers.

The crash remains under investigation.
