The Lancaster post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash this morning in Violet Township that killed two men.

Investigators say that alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

A two-vehicle crash just north of the intersection of Pickerington Road and Stemen Road in Pickerington, killed two men. Patrick Cleary, 21, of Pickerington, was driving south on Pickerington Road when his vehicle crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a Toyota Camry driven by Richard Birney, 35, of Pataskala, at about 12:24 a.m. The Fairfield County Coroner pronounced both men deceased at the crash site.
