Zachary Laughlin, 16, dies in car accident on June 6 on Blue Valley Road.
Teen Killed In Fairfield County Crash
Zachary Laughlin was killed in a car crash Friday evening.
Just one day after Berne Union High School students were dismissed for the summer, a crash took the life of one of the school's brightest students.
"He was an excellent person actually. Very good, in the band," said Joshua Stoneburner.
On Friday, Fairfield County Sheriff's deputies say 16-year-old Zachary Laughlin's was killed in a crash that occurred just ten minutes away from his school, and four blocks from his home.
"There's a lot of, lot of heart felt thoughts I think from all of the first responders that were on scene. A lot of sorrow," said Sergeant Lee Hawks with the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office.
Hawks says Laughlin was driving east in the 800 block of Blue Valley Road Southeast Friday when his tires left the roadway at about 6:48 p.m.
Deputies say Laughlin overcorrected, causing his car to roll over until it crashed into a tree.
