Ohio woman dies after being struck by driver, who may have intentionally hit her: police.
An Ohio woman lay dying on a quiet Xenia street after being struck by a car — and police now hunt her killer as they try to determine if the woman was hit intentionally.
Teresa M. Bozarth, 42, of Dayton, was unconscious outside her home on Center Street near the intersection with Locust Street when her fiancé, George Shanks, found her crumpled body around 7:40 p.m.
“I come back, I see her laying in the road, she didn’t move,” he told WRGT-TV. “I pulled her up in the yard and I yelled to John to call 911. She was crushed, she was run over.”
Cops towed away a pickup truck parked near the crash scene and called it a “vehicle of interest,” but it’s unclear if the same truck hit Bozarth. A suspected driver has been located, too, cops told WHIO-TV, but it’s still unclear who that person is — or if they intentionally hit the mother of two.
“Why didn’t you stop? Instead of just leaving her lay there like a piece of trash,” said a distraught Shanks. “I mean I love the girl to death, we were supposed to go to my kids’ today. We were supposed to get married next year. I mean, it hurts. I still picture her laying in that road.”
