Vici man killed in Dewey County wreck.

A Vici man died Thursday when he crossed the centerline and collided with a tractor-trailer on U.S. 270.

A Vici man died Thursday in a wreck on U.S. 270 in Dewey County, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said.

Michael D. Morris, 33, was declared dead at the scene of the wreck about 6:40 p.m. just southeast of Oakwood.

Morris was driving a sport utility vehicle northwest on U.S. 270 when he crossed the center line. Margie M. Palmer, 48, of Tampa, Fla., was driving a tractor-trailer in the southeast-bound lane. She swerved to avoid Morris, but the tractor-trailer collided with the driver's side door of the SUV.

Palmer was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt. Morris was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.
