Woman, 86, injured in Tigard hit-and-run; tips sought

Investigators said they found tire marks in the area of the crash that suggest the suspect was driving an older vehicle; possibly a pickup truck, SUV or a van. The vehicle accelerated quickly from the scene, Wolf said. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call 503-718-2753.

Hartwig was released from OHSU on Friday, according to the hospital. Police said she has no memory of the crash after attempting to cross the street.
The public's help is sought in dentifying a hit-and-run suspect who hit 86-year-old Eleanor Hartwig while she was on a walk on Sunday, Aug. 31 at around 12:30 p.m., according to Tigard police spokesman Jim Wolf. Hartwig has no memory of being struck, but a passerby saw Hartwig injured in the street and called 911. "Initially it appeared Hartwig's injuries may have been a result of a fall, however after medical personnel examined the victim, it became apparent that the injuries were the result of blunt-force trauma and most likely stemming from being struck by a motor vehicle," Wolf said in a news release.
