Hubert Ray Melton, 45, killed in industrial accident at American Mechanical-Piping Inc. on Highway 52 in Cheraw, South Carolina

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A man died after a work accident at American Mechanical-Piping Inc. on Highway 52 in Cheraw around 9 a.m. Monday morning, according to the Chesterfield County Coroner’s Office. The Chesterfield County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating. Coroner Kip Kiser says Hubert Ray Melton, age 45, was killed from an accident involving a piece of machinery. Coroner Kiser says investigators are still at American Mechanical Piping trying to determine what happened.
